slooj
Kubicki Ex Factor Bass Guitar including Gator hard case. Very nice condition. This Kibicki Ex Factor in sought after red is a 1989 Fender Custom Shop example. However, the electronics are the original 18v Kubicki active electronics with the 6 position pickup selector. Apparently the early Fender models used the original Kubicki 18v active electronics before they introduced their own 9v version with a 4 position pickup selector. The Ex Factor has that marvellous drop-D tuner built in to the headstock which allows the bottom E string to become a bottom D string with no change in tension. The 30+ multi-laminate neck is maple and the fingerboard is ebony. There are a few small paintwork blemishes around the bottom edge which I've tried to pick out in the pictures. There's also a few minor scratches on the bridge but all of the imperfections on this bass are aesthetic only and in no way affect the sound or playability of the bass. I've recently had this bass setup with 45-105 strings and had the frets polished. The action is low, plays nicely and the intonation is perfect. The price is £750 or trade for a Warwick Thumb. heffsett
You changed the original knob ? Where are you located ?
slooj
You're right heffsett. The chrome knob is not original. It sits on the Volume/Blend stacked pot, which is original. I'm based in Telford, Shropshire which is about 30 minute drive NW of Birmingham city centre.

Chris2112
Oh, I think you'll really enjoy this Thumb. I do rate the ones with Wenge necks a bit more as they just sound better and feel better too, thanks to the slimmer neck profile, much more like what you find ont he 1980's Thumbs! Since you're already a Thumb man I think you'll enjoy having a shot on this one!
