99ster
These boys were tearing it up before a lot of you young 'uns were even born. One of the great UK underground funk bands. This live clip is from 1985-86. I must have watched this 1000 times on VHS back in the 80s - God bless YouTube! And if your a MM fan you'll be loving this big time... Weird War
Yep, ACR had some quality tunes; I have the Do the Du/Shack Up 12" somewhere - class.
BigRedX
Cool stuff indeed... Anyone remember this from around the same time as ACR?
nick
Good call - now there's a band! I remember seeing these a few times, quite ahead of their time, & they really knew how bang out a groove. Can hear their influence in a lot of punk-funk stuff going round now. Apparently, back together.

Kiwi
There's something distinctly 80's about a heavily chorused stingray, isn't there?

Always liked ACR too; very Manchester!
BigRedX
It's Medium Medium from Nottingham doing their underground classic "Hungry So Angry" from 1981. They were the band that should have put Nottingham on the map musically in the 80s, but despite great reviews they were never as well known or popular in this country as the other punk/funk bands of the time. Apparently they've been back in the studio for a new album, but since it was supposed to be released at the end of last year, I'm not holding my breath...
