Tokai Custom Edition P Bass

Hey all,

i picked up a loovely old Tokai yesterday, and am struggling to find any info on the web to help me date the thing.

it says 'tokai custom edition' in script on the headstock, quite small writing, and then has the fender rip-off 'oldies but goldies' writing.

rosewood board, sunburst, black scratch plate, thick, cluby neck. sounds fantastic...

there is a single review for this exact bass on harmony central, where the guy thinks 1984, limited edition run.

my hunch is post lawsuit era, though possible a couple of years later than mr. harmony central thinks.

anyone else come across one of these tokai's - any idea on age???
