eubalan Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Hi Guys, Check out www.bassbanjos.com - what do you think ? Quote
thisnameistaken Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Looks quite cool, I can imagine it would go down well with folk players. If it's considerably louder than a double bass I might want one myself. Quote

Cat Burrito Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I was after one but settled for a resonnator bass. I suspect it's all more of a pose than a truly great instrument or it would be more mainstream. That said I'd still love one! Might yet happen one day Quote

BigBeatNut Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 This is louder than a conventional upright ? .... veeerrrry interesting . Sounds like a winner, assuming there's no downside. Wonder why it's not been done before ? (Looks too radical I guess) Andy Quote

The sound projection is also increased and a clear tone is evident across the whole range of the instrument.
Quote
Mateybass Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010
Hi Guys, Check out www.bassbanjos.com - what do you think ?
Looks interesting but playing with a bow is ruled out since the body will get in the way... that's why double basses are the shape they are. Therefore I can't really see the point. If it is to be louder than a DB you could go down the Stagg EDB route and spend the extra you save on the RRP for this on buying a nice little combo... and you could still bow it. Quote
grumble Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 FFS... its still that most heinous of crimes against humanity... its still a BANJO !! Yeah I'm not a fan Quote
