Electro Acoustic or Electric??

Right.. Ive been playing for a few months now and have learnt a few basslines/riffs and done a few covers with my band, but so far ive just been borrowing a mates bass but the time has come to decide on what i should get, and im pretty stuck...Electro Acoustic or Hard Bodied? My 'favoured' genre is soft rock (Free, The Stranglers etc ) but i also like to cover Nirvana etc so i really dunno..can you help me decide please

buying a bass is like buying a pair of shoes. sure you can see which ones you like the look of... but the best way is to see which fits you the best.

i could give you some examples.... but it would be much better if you went and decided for yourself. only you know what you like.

I'd go for a solid body personally. Which ever you go for you'll need to amplify it
as soon as you play with someone else anyway. You've got a lot more choice with
electric basses too.
Electro Acoustics are cool and everything (I own one myself),but they are more of a
niche instrument than a solidbody.

acoustics are great to leave around the place to pick up now and then to get a bit of extra practice, just pick it up and play.
