Old school New school - amp sounds

Currently have a LMKii which packs a punch and sounds sweet and pretty warm when compared tonally to my Bassman 135 - not the same obviously but has an affinity - what other amps in this style ie. small compact wattage monsters do people feel come close to older school sounds - SWR? EA? EBS? TC?

Probably Ashdown would be worth a first look. SWR is very scooped, EA and EBS are very hifi sounding. Can't comment on how well you could emulate the sound you need with the TC head unfortunately.

yeah used an ashdown combo some years back and always liked it as it goes

I'd say the Orange Terror Bass. It sounds warm and thick to me.
