mojobass
Go this off here not so long ago, but ebay madness and an impending arrival means one in one out and this I'm afraid looks to be the victim. Its a lovely bass, early '80's serial nember Lxxxxxxx which i believe makes it an '83 60's jazz replica the body is in good shape with minimal knocks and paint wear and the usual buckle rash, neck is lovely nice feel fast to play. When i bought it it had already been modded with hipshot aged machine heads (the very bottom screw hole can be seen protruding from where the original tokai machines would have been installed) and also the pups were kent armstrongs i was led to believe. the fender logo was already applied when i got it too and its a very good job. Any way since owning it ive replaced the pups with a set of feneder noisless ones which i felt gave a nicer warm tone (I'm no good with a soldering iron so i cut the original wires about 2" off the pots and used single small block connectors to wire in the new ones - its fine and theres no issues but i guess theyd really should be soldered properly which is a five minute job!) Its nicely set up with a set of flats (cant recall the make) and the action is nice and low. It soounds awesome and is a pleasure to play, I know its not one for the purists but as with any bass it should be how it plays and sounds thats important! Ive gigged with it often since getting it and it is second only to my warwick fortress, and although i do have a couple of other basses it always ends up in the car with me to gigs more so than any of the others! Looking for £400 posted - will come with a nice padded gig bag. Could be tempted with offers but please make them realistic [attachment=49072:DSCF6854.JPG] [attachment=49074:DSCF6855.JPG] [attachment=49075:DSCF6856.JPG] [attachment=49076:DSCF6858.JPG] [attachment=49077:DSCF6859.JPG][attachment=49078:DSCF6861.JPG] [attachment=49079:DSCF6862.JPG] Edited May 6, 2010 by mojobass
