dave_bass5
I just noticed this on the IK website. iRig If its as good as their full version i might not need my PX4D any more. Eight
Bugger bugger bugger... I just started writing one but there's no way I could compete with IK. Still... I'll be buying theirs.

Ive been using Amplitube 2 and 3 at home and really like it. Hopefully there should be one or two tones that will be usable. Even better if it allows you to play along with your music. Ive also got the Peterson Istrobe, shame i cant use the jack adaptor with the this. Edited May 7, 2010 by dave_bass5
harvey1-8
How much do you think they'll charge for that jack adaptor? EDIT: Ignore that, I've just seen. Edited May 7, 2010 by alexharvay
dave_bass5
The one i have for the istrobe cost me £14 but ti doesnt have a headphone out on it. I guess the IK one will work with both anyway.
Jean-Luc Pickguard
I'm definitely going to get this - I'd been looking for an iPod practice thingy for a while and as I'm planning to get an iPhone when the new ones come out this looks ideal. dave_bass5
I think im going to go for the free version and add in the bass amp. That should do me. Not interested in the stomp boxes. Im also hoping to pick up a iPhone 4 when they come out but might keep the iPod Touch for this sort of thing. IK Multimedia
Thanks for the kind words, if you have any other questions let me know. Also, in two days the app will be available - including the free version and you can play with it on your device! I have a peterson cable but of course it has no output.

The adapter is going to be shipped first come, first serve in very early July. That date is correct and we look to be on schedule for it. Get the FREE version with 3 stompboxes, 1 amp+cabinet, 2 microphones here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amplitube-f...d373309342?mt=8 Also there are LE and Full versions: AmpliTube LE: 5 stompboxes, 1 amplifier + cabinet, 2 microphones - $2.99/€2.39 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amplitube-le/id373507300?mt=8 AmpliTube: 11 stompboxes, 5 amps + cabinets, 2 microphones - $19.99/€15.99 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amplitube/id373524000?mt=

dave_bass5
Cool, thanks for posting. I checked out the free version earlier. Im only interested in a bass rig sim so ill probably keep it simple. Dont need stomp boxes. Can you tell me (i know, im lazy) what bass amps are available. am i right that i buy the LE version, then buy the individual amps and cabs through the app? I started using Amplitube 3 last night. Ive sort of given up on Guitar rig for now as it keeps freezing up. EDIT: OK, i can see how to purchase a Bass rig form the free version. Oh, and the demos sound good. well done IKM. wateroftyne
Also... I'm just playing about with it now, and I keep being asked to connect to a network whenever I go to add a song. Can I not just pick a tune from iTunes on my phone and play along with it?

Maybe the new multitasking of OS 4 will help.
IK Multimedia
Yes, the bass rig is an in-app purchase or in the Full. You have to import from your computer because the iTunes/iPod player is at 1024 samples which is excrutiatingly latency-inducing compared to our very low rate that allows for the low latency. So it needs to be imported that way. Otherwise you'd never be able to play along comfortably in time without wanting to rip your hair out. TomKent
I'll be buying this, as if I do have time to practice a song/set before a gig/session I have to do it on the train or on the way! Looks brilliant..
wateroftyne
Just had a bit more of a mess around with it, uploading a couple of songs to it and messing with the demo. I'll be honest, and say I'm a little disappointed. The upload process robs it of the spontaneity, which is a shame but I appreciate that it's probably the only practical way to do it. You're also limited to 20 songs, which really limits it for me as I've quite often got 40+ tunes on the go at any given time. It would even help if you could drag songs across from iTunes on the phone. For the moment I'll be sticking with my RH450 and iTunes, but I might buy the adaptor for trips away. We'll see.
