Jean-Luc Pickguard
This looks to be a bargain at £325 buy-it-now. I could learn to live with the tacky Sting signature 12th fret block, but the holes drilled for the thumbrest would anny the hell out of me. I had the '51 reissue a while back. And I don't know exactly why, but I'd have anyone's name on a bass rather than (I can hardly bear to say it) 'Sting' ;-)
Count Bassy
"What an idiot to put that thumrest on... shame really," Not really. If the original owner's technique required a thumb rest, then fitting one would seem totally sensible. Clive
SJA
he's put a Badass on it, but with no holes to keep the thru-body stringing. the thumbrest would be more useful closer to the pickup.

Jean-Luc Pickguard
Its not the worst modification on ebay at the moment though. It looks like this chap didn't realise that it would be a good idea to dismantle the bass before painting the body. I could be wrong, but it certainly looks to me like the pickguard and body were sprayed together.
