MattyB90 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Hey I was talking with Ant on msn about getting into FX pedals and he told me to find a track I like with bass distortion and take it from there. So I picked the track (thats attached) with a nice bass intro and Ant had a listen and he said it sounds alot like a P-Bass (or equivalent) through a tube amp. Now I know he uses a Schecter Stilletto Studio bass and Marshall amps if that helps. So anyone know how to achieve this tone? (Preferably with a pedal). Cheers in advance. Quote
Tee Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Pedal-wise, i'd say a Sansamp Bass Driver with the 'Drive' cranked (drive on this pedal doesn't add distortion/overdrive, but it does add a bit of bite/growl) and also the 'Blend' knob bias towards the effected signal more than your original bass signal. You'd be able to get this tone with most basses, certainly with a P bass or jazz. Oh and Volume helps Amp-wise (solid state), a Tech 21 Landmark series Bass amp can muster a good variation of sounds, from clean to Tool/King's X/Jesus Lizard type distortion. Quote
