basskit_case
The first bass I bought was the Dean Jeff Berlin Basic Bass, I really like it, it feels very confortable to play. One thing I noticed is that although it is a full scale bass it is a good couple of inches shorter than a Fender Jazz or Precision. The last bass I bought was a Yamaha RBX A2 from Redstriper on this forum, again a great bass but similar in size and proportion to the Dean. Do basses of this size have a name, are they recognised as a seperate sized bass? If not do you know of any other manufacturers that produce basses to a similar size? RussFM
Probably a case of the bridge being right at the end of the body, plus a shorter headstock? Bridge to nut will still be 34" either way.
Tait
ibanez basses tend to have smaller bodies, or at least, the soundgear series does. i think the ATK is more fender sized, not sure about the BTB or any of their other series. tbh i think most modern bass designs will have the smaller body, things like the Ibanez and the Yamaha. not really my sort of basses (although i actually love my SR500), but there are plenty out there.
