TheDisparities
Hi there im an indie bassist that plays kinda stuf like the libertines and arctic monkeys and want to add a bit of extra punch to my bass' sound. Are there any that are reasonably priced and reliable? Cheers, Chris

TheDisparities
Have anyone heard the live at the grand auditorium album when Rage against the machine played in LA? I'm looking for the bassists tone there, something that will give a nice punch but won't stop the tone coming through too. N.B. I know Rage aren't indie, but its just an example Cheers, Chris
cheddatom
Heh, everyone wants Timmy C's tone, and no-one's going to get it. I think he used a marshall guvnor but also used a lot of amp distortion. He blends clean in too on a seperate amp. So you want a dirt pedal with a clean blend.... err that wasn't much help. I haven't tried the current Guvnor, maybe that would be appropriate. orangepeelneil
[size=3] For what it's worth.... my advice would be the FULLTONE BASSDRIVE. I've got the non MOSFET version and am really enjoying it ( paid £90 on FleaBay). I've spent five years trying to find a good, but subtle bass overdrive and the FULLTONE ticks all the boxes, I play a trio and just need some mid bass drive when the singer guitarist is soloing to fill out the sound. I'd really recommend trying one, pretty veratile OD- they're not too cheap new ~£150- but they often come up on basschat and Fleabay.
