A quick hello

Good Evening

Thought seeing as I`ve been viewing Basschat for a while, I should join, and add to the world of Basschetters.

Name is Lozz, live in Hertfordshire. 44 yrs old, been playing bass since I was 15. First bass was a Kay Gibson SG type bass copy. It actuall cost me, bear in mind this was 1980 people, £50. Back then, for those fortunate enough to not remember,a pint was approx 30p. So, my first bass, with action of abt an inch off the fret-board, cost the equivalent of 140 pints - equating to £520.

Have been in many bands, played many basses, but have found that I`m a Precision man (Leo did get it right, IMHO). Currently have a 97 American Standard, 3TS, RW, Tort scratchplate, 07 American Standard, Black, RW, Black scratchplate, CIJ 51 Re-issue, in butterscoth, maple, MIM Standard, White, RW, Black scratchplate. Also have a MIM Jazz, Classic 70s, in 3TS, which am looking to sell, as have been gassing for a MIM Classic 50s P-Bass, so anyone on the lookout for one of these, please keep a lookout, mine will be gposted soon.

Amp-wise, Marshall MB450H, with a Marshall VBC412. I know, P-bass, Marshall, I`m an old-school kinda guy. Main areas of music are punk, and heavy rock, so my set-up does me proud! Thats all for now, sure I`ll post summat else soon.

Hi, thanks for the welcome. Def worth getting a 51 RI - I actually sold mine to a mate, and regretted it virtually from day one, so ended up swapping him a Fender Jazz Aerodyne so I could get it back. In fact, it`s the only instrument I`ve ever regretted selling, still, she`s back home with me now

Howdy! Yep, the 51RI is where its at, alright. My main bass, although I put some TI Jazz Flats on my Standard P last week, and the 51 hasn't got much of a look in since!
It can have go at tonight's gig!
