Oh that's not good, that means for a £100 a month I could have a Dingwall! Nurse quick the screens, I have GAS!!!!!!

+1 on all of the positive comments, however the Interest Free is on 'quality' instruments not on amps etc, shame or else I'd have walked away with a tonnage of Genz Benz gear. If you're buying a higher end bass, game on!!!

It might be worth speaking to Mark about that.... :)

According to the credit section on the BD website:

You can use Take it away to finance the purchase of any kind of musical instrument, whether new or reconditioned, from a tabla to a tenor horn, a bass guitar to a berimbau. You can also include music stands, stools, sheet music, amplifiers, equipment and sometimes tuition as part of your loan.

Recorded music, PA systems and computer hardware are not eligible to purchase under the scheme.

So no excuse!

Believe me I did, I'm afriad he has to be very careful about how this scheme is managed or he could be in trouble. Now if someone wants to buy a quality bass and then buy some Genz Benz speakers then please let me know!!!

But seriously it is first and foremost an initiative to get people playing quality instruments, which I have to say strikes me as a bit dumb, surely it's better to get people playing any instruments/amps/music stands whatever.

Hey ho, As mentined earlier, I would have walked away with a whole load of kit and Mark would have made a sale if we could have managed the interest free credit thingy.

Hasn't she told you that Warwick University is in Coventry? :)

Well the Uni's about 25 minutes away from Warwick proper, down the A46, so it's not exactly a huge diversion either way.
I go climbing at the Uni one a week or so, so that stretch of dual carriageway is rather familiar now ;]

Another trip up there for me soon with a fist full of dollars. My favourite bass place. Head and shoulders way above The Gallery for service and advice IMHO.

I have always found Mark great to deal with. He is genuinely interested in ensuring you get the gear that is right for you and not just spinning stuff out the door regardless of the customer's need.

I just got this Nash from BassDirect, arrived yesterday http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...sh_63_Jazz.html

Realised I should never have sold my old CAR Nash Jazz last year (now owned by a very happy Stacker) as its a Jazz for Precision players - ie, really chunky neck, not the skinny neck I can't get on with on with on modern Jazzes.

Put some new strings on, adjusted the truss rod and its really nice. Happy Jack will of course hate the relic'd finish!

I now need to sell something to help pay for it ....

PS, I find the Gallery a bit intimidating. I feel (perhaps incorrectly) that I am dealt with in a pretty peremptory manner (eg, I asked them to source a particular amp part and they never got back to me; and every set-up I have had done has buzzed like mad, even though I explained each time that I am a pick player, as I think they set up for finger players). I get the feeling each time that I am something of an irritation. TBH, I wish there was an alternative in London like the Bass Centre of old

I played that in BassDirect a couple of weeks ago. The neck's not at all like a typical Jazz, is it? It's a beauty...

Another thumbs up for Bass Direct from me! Mark really does his best to make every customer feel valued, and at the same time does his best to give you the benefit of his experience. If there's a particular bit of gear I'm interested in, I always check to see whether there is any way I can give Mark my business first, before I look elsewhere.

Thats exactly how I felt both times I went there :)

Almost as if I was another 'Pikey from the sticks'.

I bought a rig from there a few years back and dealt with Martin all day as Alex was away on holiday - I wonder if that is why I had a very pleasurable buying experience!!!
