magee
For sale is one Ampeg Micro VR 200 watt head and two Ampeg SVT 210AV 2x10 cabinets. This is an insanely light and portable set-up, and was bought new in February by Beedster. I bought it from him and have had it for a few weeks. It's great, but my band is getting some bigger gigs and I think I need something more powerful. If I could afford to keep this for rehearsals and smaller gigs I'd do it in a shot. This amp has a surprising amount of the tone you get from Ampeg's all-valve heads and big fridge cabinets. It's not the whole shebang of course, but it's closer than something this small, light and relatively cheap has any right to be. The portability is amazing. I went to a gig on the bus the other night with the head in one hand, one cab in the other and a bass in a gig bag on my back. I walked ten minutes to the bus, hopped on and walked ten minutes to the venue with no problem at all, rig in hands. Having two cabs is handy too – I keep one at home for practising and the other at my blues band singer's house where we rehearse. I just turn up with the bass on my back and the head in one hand and am ready to go in thirty seconds. It throws out enough volume for a rehearsal with one cab and could do small gigs with that. For slightly bigger gigs you'd need the two cabs. It has a DI out as well if you have PA support. The sound is classic Ampeg. This rig is mid-heavy, which is great for that growling sound, but can be pulled back with the EQ if it's too much for you. Changing the cab configurations from stacked to side-by-side has a big impact on the sound too, and is worth experimenting with. This is not a hi-fi amp, though. If you are looking for something other than an old-school tone, look elsewhere. What it does is relatively limited, but it does it really well. Head is 200W into 4ohms, 150W into 8, speakers are 8ohms, rated at 200W. You can see what Talkbass types think of it here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.p...&highlight= And what Beedster thought of it on buying it here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=75821&hl= This looks brilliant, it sounds great and is light as a feather. I'm looking for £500 plus postage, which is what I got it from Beedster for. It will come packed in original boxes, postage should be about £40. Here are some pics: And because I don't have both cabs in the same place just now, Chris [Beedster] has kindly allowed me to use his picture from his sale thread of them both together: Thanks for looking, Matthew Edited June 25, 2010 by magee

magee
munkonthehill: thanks buddy. cerijones: I'd like to sell them as a one-r, since they all match up so well. If they don't go as that I'll start to think about splitting, but I want to hang on for now to sell them as a lot if possible. MythSte: thanks, I'm sure I'll talk to you later. magee
Hello, Drewk_ie: I'm pretty sure my next amp is going to be an Ashdown, so I'll pass on the trade. Thanks, though. Headofire: as the guys pointed out in my absence [thanks clauster and munkonthehill ], it's 2 cabs not 1. No bother, though, easy mistake to make.
