Hey,

Since getting my Jazz it's had rather.. disgusting.. pickups. As you'll see in the attached photo, they almost look rusty, however they're not rusty. How would I go about cleaning them up?

Cheers,
TK

I'd try ScotchBrite, the plastic scouring stuff. Works surprisingly well on metal, and won't get stuck (magnetically) to the pickups. You may also want to mask the plastic body as it is pretty abrasive stuff. You could make a mask with a bit of cornflake packet and judicious use of a hole punch...

if the poles are just proud of the plastic you can also try using one of those 4-sided foam fingernail buffers you'll find in the wife's side of the bathroom cabinet, they work wonders as a mild abrasive for buffing up light metalwork.
