Gust0o
With my growing collection, I could do with some additional way of storing them - and I was wondering about wall mounts. That would work for me; I tend to enjoy drifting past and picking them up a play, and it would solve the wife's complaints. I don't want my pride and joys dropping off the wall, mind, so my question is - have you used wall mounts previously? Do you have any recommendations? Where do I need to go shopping? Alien
Hercules without a doubt. They grab your bass and its own weight holds the grabs shut. Only downside is they're not wide enough to take most 6-stringers. A
Mykesbass
Agreed on the Hercules - used to use them when I had a shop - nice and secure and a great release mechanism. Just don't use on Nitro-cellulose finished necks (oh, and they're not great on vintage style tele headstocks if you have any instruments from the dark side)! Bigwan
I bought half a dozen of the standard guitar shop jobs off ebay and they're rock solid - I used longer screws/rawl plugs than usual to mount them and they're going nowhere. Been up for nearly a year now (my shuker 6 must be in the region of 12lbs+, although I've never weighed it). If I'd only been buying 1 I might have been tempted by the Hercules stuff, but I've seen one of their guitar stands fall to bits with little abuse so then again maybe not... Stylon Pilson
I have used these with Interset anchors with great success. Marvin
I've got a Hercules, had it since January, but not actually put it up yet Design and quality are good though.
beardybass
+1 on the Hercules, I used a couple, one of them to hold a Yamaha 6-string and the other to hold the 6 that our very own Howard built for me Never had any problems with them. I recommend 'em.
urb
I think I have the Apex ones, I think the most important thing after the quality of the bracket is the way you attach it to the wall, my sisters' boyfriend is a handyman/chippy extraordinaire and he used a hefty bolt and glue on mine so they are rock solid and don't move an inch. In other words don't just rely on the supplied bolt and washer, but then again I'm crap at DIY so you might be a wiz at putting these things up, I just get nervous about hanging a 3K bass four feet off the ground...
