markytbass Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I have recently bought a Vintage sunburst Stingray and want to get a clear scratch plate to replace the black one. I have seen some at WD music on line but feel that £32 is a tad steap for a piece of plastic. I could get some plastic and try a DIY job but wife suggested I try and buy one first. I'm sure I saw some on Ebay (USA) for around £20 recently but can't find them now. Does anyone else know where I could get one from. Any help would be much apreciated. Cheers Markyt Quote

niceguyhomer Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Don't forget to factor in the customs charges if you buy from the US - I got stung £15 for two Jeannie's Pickguards for my Lakland, which makes the WD one look like a bargain in comparison. By the way, I tried to buy a clear one for my Sterling from WD a few months back and was told they don't keep them in stock - he told me they order them in specially from the US. Quote
markytbass Posted November 23, 2007 Author Posted November 23, 2007 Oh well thanks for the replies, looks like I'll be doing it myself. Quote
markytbass Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 Just found some 3mm A4 size perspex for £1.25, so even if I cock up and have to get another it will be worth it. Quote
aido43 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 If you dont mind me asking where did you get perspex---Im trying to get some for a Wymore Black Rose Tele bass which has a weird shape--not quite Precision. Thought I might have a go myself--Id aso recommend Dazbootman on ebay for standard sizes at good prices. Quote
