BigRedX
A cool idea and probably completely brilliant if you play totally instrumental with no vocals or any acoustic instruments. IME even the thwack of sticks on electronic drum pads and vocals can be too loud for some. And don't even think about saxophones...
skychaserhigh
A few years ago we bought a headphone amp that allowed the whole band to plug in so we could rehearse silently. It was a basic version of this and worked ok. Our drummer used electronic pads so noise was kept to a minimum. We only used it a couple of times though as you just don't get the same feel as from playing at normal levels. Dave.
Jean-Luc Pickguard
Headphones are great for practicing alone, but I think there's a need to shift a little air for a rehearsal even if it means using acoustic guitars etc.
