Just realised I´ve not done an intro yet.
Hi to all.
I´m from the south of Ireland.
Been playing since I was about 16 or so.
Have been steadily working around school, two bouts of Uni (undergrad and post-grad) and a current part tme job.
Have played in some great bands (and some awful ones too)
Currently playing in 3 and enjoying every mnute.
Started on a Yamaha RBX170 (still have it9 and have gone through a ton of Fenders-which I love.
Currently got a few 70´s Precisions which I adore.
Am a devout Fender and Ampeg follower-best sounding combination to my ears.

I love buying and trading gear, its become a major hobby and I take great enjoyment from surprising/boring my bandmates with my latest finds.
Though after this weekend, I hope to be GAS free for a VERY LONG time!

I also doodle on sax (spent 5 years as a kid playing alto) and the dreaded rythm guitar!
Gutarwise, I am a Gretsch-head and love that twang and growl you can only really get from thos pups!
That speaks to my love of Rockabilly music I guess.

Recently started back on the upright (had a few lessons in the school band) and am rehearsing for an hour every day lately and loving it.
Just had a set up done on my Palatino (bought here on BC) and started jamming with some friends with a view to setting up another rockabilly band
Found the Double/EUB threads a great help.

I will have been using Basschat nearly a year now and I have to say, it has been amazing so far.
Have bought some basses, an EUB and some amps and bits here. Also sold my first bass internationally here too.

This site is a fantastic resource and that is due to the community involved -made up of great, friendly and helpful people.
Thanks to everyone who has helped me out here so far, and look forward to talking some more with you all
Cheers, :)
Col
