Stacker Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 (edited) Bought this fella about a year or so back from Ishibashi. Most of you will know what lovely gems can be found on that site and this is one of them. Crafted in Japan non-export Fender Jazz, based on an amalgamation of early to mid '60s Jazzes. This bass exhibits the dot and bound necks seen in the 1965 models yet still retains the brass grounding strip to the bridge. I decided to make the hardware black (bar the jack socket nut) and put on a set of lightweight Hipshot lollipop tuners and a black Wilkinson bridge. The 3-ply amber plate is also non-original and there are also aftermarket holes for other plates underneath. Pups are Japanese hot rods. No case but I will throw in a gig bag. No issues bar a few belt scars on the back but nothing through the finish. A nice, light Jazz with a rarely seen neck which sports a matching headstock. Looking for £470 inc shipping within mainland UK. Edited July 29, 2010 by Stacker
p58 Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 oh my god this looks killer (i believe it also plays killer). mainland Uk...thank god, my girlfriend will kill me if I buy one mor bass
Shacky Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 my god that's amazing. There's two possible dream Jazzes I have, and this is essentially one of them. unfortunately, I don't have £500 at the moment D:
bigjohn Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Nice bass. I have the ivory white one. Are you sure about the pickups? They're usually US Standard.
Stacker Posted June 1, 2010 Author Posted June 1, 2010 Yeh I've heard that some of them are but I have to go on what Ishi told me in their blurb and that was that they were Jap Hot Rods. How one set is determined from the other, I dunno.
Stacker Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Still need to shift this, even more so now! T-bass coming back on, too!
anty Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 no chance youd consider northern ireland shipping, albeit if I can sell an ibanez sr500 or ibby atk700
bubinga5 Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 That is very nice..you cant beat those MIJ Jazzers for something unique...
Stacker Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 (edited) Sorry, guys, been out of town. Still for sale, price dropped a little bit to £470. At that price I'm taking a loss and can't go any lower than that, fellas, as then it won't be worth me selling the bass. TomTom's been replied to. Anty - yeh shipping to NI is ok, but may cost a tad extra Edited July 21, 2010 by Stacker
