Hey guys.

Decided to move on the Bongo, its not really the bass for me, i dont need a 4 band EQ or the extra humbucker on the neck. Looks bloomin evil though!

Description

Here we have an excellant example of a Musicman Bongo V, its an earlyish built one.

Specification

Stealth black finish, pretty rare! Basswood body, unsure of the neck (Probably maple) rosewood fingerboard, with half moon inlays. All original pickups and 4 band preamp. All hardware is black, 34" Scale, nice Stingray-esq neck. Completely original.

Comes with a high quality Gator hardcase

Functionality

Absoloutely no problems electrically or structurally, all electronics are working smoothly. The pre-amp runs very hot (18volt) Volume/Balance/Bass/Low Mid/High Mid/Treble controls. Trussrod is 100% functional.

Playability

Plays like a Musicman should! No problems here. Lovely player! Just intonated it myself last night.

Sounds

Sounds a little smoother then a stingray, more refined, but also with more power, clean tone is massive. Growl can be had using the 4 band EQ. Really fat sound.

Condition

The only ding worth mentioning is the one on the upper horn on the front of the bass that you can see in the photos. There are some other small imperfections but nothing to get worked up about, they are impossible to photograph. Frets and fingerboard is in great condition.

Price/Trades

Same what i paid for it £930. (Heres a link to the Ebay page. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT )

Straight trades i would consider on this bass is a Musicman Stingray/Sterling 5 string, such as a limited edition, Stealth, or graphite necked models, NO ROSEWOOD BOARDS. Vigier Passion 5 String or other high quality 5 string basses.

Part Exchange. (With cash my way) Fender USA Deluxe 5's in Montego black Plus £200 cash or Musicman 4/5 string (Non limited edition model, NO ROSEWOOD BOARDS) plus £250-£350 cash or Gibson Grabber (Reissue or original) plus £400 cash. May consider other basses.

Delivery

Bass must be picked up from Bristol, would rather not post at this time. However, if you are interested in the bass and want to trade, then a meetup could be arranged. If you need to have it posted, let me know and i will contact you if i decide to post.

Other information

If you require any other information or specific photos of the bass, please let me know either by PM or my E-mail address Anubispearl [AT] hotmail.com, My number is also available for serious buyers.
