Pete Academy
I have a very simple bassline that I need to to email to someone. I have no method of recording it here at home. I've looked at an online music creating site but I can't understand how it works. Anyone help?
OldGit
If you have PC running windows you have a sound recorder built in. start > programmes > accessories > entertainment > sound recorder. Plug your bass into the mic socket (need a converter to minijack) and play very, very quietly. Record it, save the file and send it to your friend. If you have a Mac I think it comes with Garage Band so no probs there. Why can't we have GarageBand for Windows??? I'll see if I can find a jack converter. Much appreciated.

cheddatom
can't you borrow something from work? If you have a mini jack plug you could always strip the wires and tape them onto the inside of your bass's jack (yeh, I have done it, it was a little noisy!!). Pete Academy
I've just recorded it on to my phone and emailed it to myself. The media player opens but the Wav file won't play.

bassicinstinct
This should convert your .wav file into an .mp3. Free wav to mp3 convertor Used it ages ago and, if memory serves, it worked fine. cheddatom
That's weird. Does it play back on your phone? Has it recorded at 48Hz or something?

Quick conversion to 44.1kHz seems to have sorted it. P.
cheddatom
heh, he e-mailed it to me too but I have no speakers at work. I converted to WMA. Hopefully he's all sorted - Pete?
