bassicinstinct Posted June 2, 2010 Author Posted June 2, 2010 Forgive me, but I keep finding these storming clips and I just have to share 'em!! Quote

Jon Cleary recorded the 3 AMG albums with Jeffery Alexander who went back to Papa Grows Funk, they briefly used Terrence Higgins from The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Eddie Christmas has been with them for a few years now. Bloodaxe Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Thanks for those, good stuff - I had no idea that the AMG were funksters... I was expecting this (much more my kind of thing): Saw Jon Cleary a few years back in Oxford with Bonnie Raitt & Rikki Fataar (Stig O'Hara!) - just awesome, if you get the chance, GO. Pete. Quote
Mykesbass Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 The greatest New Orleans piano player ever born in Kent!! The guy is amazing, as are his band. Playing a little theatre in Shoreham soon, will make sure I am there. Quote
Mykesbass Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 BTW, what is it with Kent and its musical exports - Jon Cleary to New Orleans, Shane MacGowan to Ireland - Waynepunkdude - when are you off? Quote
chris_b Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 He's not coming over with the AMG this time. He's with a different drummer and a double bass player. Quote

yorks5stringer Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Seen him with Bonnie over here and in Central Park (NYC!) with a plethora of New Orleans Acts (Galatica and Soul Rebels). Also he was in Ripley, N Yorks last year with the AMG, great gig and great bassist too. The Guitarist with the AMG is the biggest guitarist I've ever seen, he needed the lift to get up on stage...
