Anyone seen this before? Anyone know who the 'celebrity' who ordered this Custom Shop one-off is?

Not seen this before. Call Simone at V&R and I am sure she would tell you. But pls don't sell your lovely aged Oly white P bass as I like your avatar!

Thanks, Clarky! Don't worry about the 76P - that'll eventually be going to young master discreet - if he proves himself worthy! :)

That's a classic C&W bass - light blue, maple board, perloid or whatever its called plate, classic Precision style, rhinestones on the shoes and a big cowboy hat

i can picture the confederate flag sticker on the case now

I think you may be right... and that's why I'm getting a bit of a pervy buzz off it

At last, an excuse to wear a fringed suede jacket! Ohhh.

Normally I don't really go for the older P style basses but there's something eally quite cool about this one :)

Loving the pearloid guard and the fact that it's matched on the rear as well :

Good to see that V&R are still listing my 1976 fretless Precision around two thirds of the way down the FS page, even though I bought it about 3 months ago now!!!! Didn't pay too much attention to this initially... does this mean it's active?

The contrast in colour between the powder blue, the white pups and perloid and the maple is doing something weird to my brain...
which probably says more about me than the bass :)

That's what I wondered - pretty sure a standard old P / Tele Bass wouldn't have any routing through the rear of the bass . . .

Chi Cheng from Deftones had one with that body shape, thinner and more contoured than the Mike Dirnt. His didn't have such an ugly finish though, and probably didn't have the jazz pickup.

Confusing...

Eurgh, I'm getting the same weirdness from this, now:

I'm going for a bit of a lie down... maybe it's the weather.

Maybe it was this one? I can't seem to find a colour pic of it yet, though.

You know it! Maybe I should just buy this jacket instead... it'll be cheaper.

EDIT: Should still go nicely with my Oly P...
