A while ago I bought a Crate BT50 combo. I didn't have high expectations of it - it's 1x12, 50 watts, cost me £80 on eBay, and I just wanted it as a practice/rehearsal amp. A few weeks ago we had a gig in a pub where they'd had complaints about noise, so I took the Crate. All I got all night was people telling me how good the bass sounded, even a bass player from another band asking "where did you get that amp?".

On Saturday, in the same venue, with the Markbass combo that cost me 8 times as much, not a word.
