hagguy
i've just been offered a spector legend and a boss br-900cd for my sandberg basic, i've had plenty basses but i've never tried a spector before, if anyone can shed some light on quality and if this is a decent deal it would be great the serial number is s05080352 and heres a couple pics
Wil
I've got a Legend Custom (through neck) and it's great. Plays really well, and sounds very full and punchy with a lot of sustain. I don't know what the quality of the bolt on versions is like however.
RussFM
Serial seems strange, my Legend and my Q4 both have four digit serials. Looks quite flat as well, got any other pics, like from the side?
Wil
Could be a Spector Performer? The bridge looks different too.
hagguy
some more pics, finish looks really matt think it might be a budget entry level one
RussFM
Yeah I'd say that's a Performer, the Legend has a curved back, like the higher end Spectors. Any idea where it's made? I think the Performers were China, the Legends are Korea.
MoonBassAlpha
It's a Performer DLX passive with 2v 2t controls, possibly not the curved body, but it's hard to be certain, as the curve is hard to photo. looks like this one
Wil
If that's the case then it's worth less than half the cash value of your Sandberg. As for whether they will compare as basses, only you can make that call, you might find the Spector fits you well even though it is more of a budget instrument. I'd only trade with some cash your way though, based on the info we have anyway. *Edit - of course you mentioned a Boss br-900cd too. In terms of new values, if you bought one of those and a Spector Performer you're near enough looking at the cost of a Sandberg Basic, yes. Whether it's worth it or not though is up to you at the end of the day. Edited June 16, 2010 by Wil
RussFM
Yeah, Performers are about £300 new, Legends about £500.
hagguy
the more i look at it, the more i think it it looks a cheapo bass, if it is a performer and not a legend that doesnt fill me with confidence that the guys not sure of the model, i'll hit him a mail for some more details
