Monz Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Well at 36" it makes my stingray feel like a telecaster by comparison eeeek After an hour of playing I'm getting used to it but the clarity of the sound on all strings and especially the low B is mind blowing, I honestly didn't realise until I A/B'd it with the stingray and it blew the stingray out of the water (and I really like my stingray) The EQ is so precise and effective it needs very slight adjustment to achieve a completely different tone and being able to pan onto a neck pickup is delightful (stingray is the single humbucker) Will bore you all to death again soon as I discover more joys of Overwater ownership PS Thanks Iain you are a true gent Quote
NJE Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Congrats! Progress 3's are stunning and the build on them is absolutely phenominal. When I got my old one (gone now) I must have spent about 20 mins just looking at it. I know what you mean about the 36" scale, it really does control that B string well and it doesnt take too long to get used to either. I have a Overwater Jazz at 35" now and that is a bit more aggresive on the B but I quite like that. You have to get some pictures up to support the Overwater "porn" thread now so we can all have a good look. Quote

It's not as aggresive in in your face as the stingray but packs a lot bigger punch in a balanced way, if that makes any sense... I can't wait to gig it for the first time on Saturday Quote
