tommitchener Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 STOLEN ALL BLACK JAZZ BASS - TAKEN FROM CAR BEHIND KOKO, CAMDEN. Friday night I had the back window of my car smashed in behind Koko in Camden. My Black Fender Jazz Bass was taken - was later told I was the third person this year to have this happen to them on that street. Apparently they watch you load in and out and pick their moment! If anyone hears anything about it, please get in contact as I loved this bass: Fender US Standard Black Jazz Bass with Black Scratchplate and Rosewood Neck (S1 Switching) Fitted with a non-standard ‘Badass III’ Bridge. Was in a Warwick Rockbag gig bag when taken. Has quite a large chip on the headstock (where is fell out of a fire escape!) and has been well gigged, so it’s not new looking by any stretch of the imagination. Ou7shined Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Black Jazz with a Badass III shouldn't be too hard to spot. Hope you get it back mate. And a thousand deaths to sh*tes that half inched it. Quote
dave_bass5 Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 You would think maybe the Venue would have warned you if its happened before. Bad news and good luck in getting it back. Was it insured? Quote
Gust0o Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 There's a good few members down your way - hopefully, if everyone keeps an eye out, this one might resurface. I'm sure your scum are the same as ours, and the likes of Cash Convertor, etc, will be a likely place to start. Here's hoping you get it back chief. Quote
Dubs Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Sorry to hear about this mate - I hate hearing about stolen gear. Best of luck getting it back. Quote
Kiwi Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I hate hearing about stolen gear as well, we always made sure someone was with the van and cars when we were loading it up in London. My worst nightmare is having stuff nicked. Quote
bh2 Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Mitch... bummer. Hope it turns up. B****ds. I feel your pain. I had a bass nicked from a venue here in Oxford. I'd only had it a week and I had to pay HP on it for two years! Quote
absolutpepper Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 This sucks dude! Drop a wee post over on the Ebay forum, i'm sure the other regular contributors there wont mind and that way more people'll keep their eye on the 'bay where it may - more than likely - appear. Good luck in the recovery. Quote
Tech Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 i'll keep my eyes peeled round and about mate... that's a beautiful bass, i hope things work out! Quote

Mitch
I hope you have the serial number and have reported the theft to the police. As if even Crack Converters do have it at some point its a sod to prove its yours if you dont have these details. Keep an eye out on LOOT & Gumtree too..my sons mixing desk turned up on there(GT) almost a year after it was nicked Wish you luck with a fast return Quote

Good luck. Quote
12stringbassist Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Very best of luck in recovering your bass. Some people don't deserve to live. Quote
waynepunkdude Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Have posted details here. http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/pa...82348096?ref=ts Quote
waynepunkdude Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Right I didn't know if anyone had reported it to Crack Converters in Kentish Town so I was passing and did. If you drop them an email with all the details to and say a guy called Wayne reported it on Tuesday they'll keep a look out. Quote
tommitchener Posted July 3, 2010 Author Posted July 3, 2010 Hi all, Thanks for your help and for keeping your eyes peeled. Yeah, I phoned the Cash Converters in the area, as well as pretty much everywhere else I could think of. I doubt I'll be seeing it again. Unfortunately, I could not find the Serial Number, and I can appreciate how hard it can be to prove it's mine if I find it. Today I am going round all my gear and getting the serial numbers written down, you live and learn! So to all players out there...watch out around the Mornington Cresent area of London. If you are playing KOKO, make sure you always have someone by your van/car when loading out...as you and your gear are being watched. The Police have a lot of trouble with this sort of thing around there, and I would hate someone else to have the poor luck I had. I'll be sure to tell you guys if it turns up. Cheers Mitch PS - What are the new Jazz Basses like? I need a replacement.... Quote
