Stole the input from my Peavey Millenium to use in another bass but want to get the peavey working again, only have a red and a black wire to connect.

Will be using a switchcraft input unless there's any recommendation for better?

If it's the active version then there should be 3 cables to connect up to the jack. One is for the batteries to switch on and off. I actually replaced the input jack on my old peavey one of these because the old one wasn't actually very good and it seemed to take a standard open style jack pretty well so no problems there really.

You're right! Can you remember how they're wired? Is it ring- battery ground (blk), tip - pup hot (red), and sleeve - ground (bare)?
