Strings placement over pickups

Hi all

I wonder if anyone can tell me if the strings on a Fender Precision or Jazz bass need to be in the center of the magnets on the pickup. On my Jazz it appears that the G string and D string seem to favour the small inside magnet on the neck pickup but seem to be more in the center over the bridge pickup.

Does this affect the sound or am I just bein to fussy. The bridge is a badass 2.

More important is the strings relationship to the neck and frets.

If the string is not perfectly in the middle of the exposed magnet poles it won't make a huge difference unless they are adjustable.

Thanks for your reply. Everything else seems great I was just concerned that maybe I should be trying to fix it.
How do you know if it is adjustable?

Instead of flat shiny magnet tops they have screw heads like this.....

Ahh I see. Its a Geddy Lee bass I have so its just the stock pickups which are fantastic..
