best DI boxes for bass guitars

ive been looking to get a di box for bass for when i am doing acoustic gigs and i wanted to know what fellow bassist recommend to get and good for money

Might be worth looking at the preamp/ di pedals out there
not only a di but a useful solution if your rig dies mid gig,
or if you want to do what geddy used to do and totally
discard the big amp in favour of a sansamp pre/di.
Leading candidates are mxr m80, sansamp bddi, aguilar
tone hammer, hartke vxl and the behringer knock offs.

EBS MicroBass II as well.

(I've got the EBS, but I've only had it a couple of weeks and have yet to use it live, so I reserve judgement until I've heard it through a FoH system. That said, it's had a lot of love on here. Preferred by many over the Sansamp offerings.)

Very good unit...and I have one as a EQ unit and a DI box.
Both my basses that I use live are active/passive and I think..on my usage so far, that these work better in passive mode.
But I guess it depends how powerful your active is..
For me, I am thinking mine is overkill.

Best I've used is my Retrospec Juice Box (all-valve class "A"), but they stopped making them years ago.

So that wasn't very helpful, sorry. Tone Hammer and Sansamp always get great reviews

The MXR DI+ is a great piece of kit. 3 band EQ, colour switch, blendable overdrive/distortion and noise gate.

I usually just take bass + MXR to rehearsals and use the rig there and for gigs, it's bass > MXR > amp with DI out of MXR to the desk. Sounds great and very very simple.

Not sure how much use you'd have for the dirty channel on an acoustic gig though.
