Jazz pickguard

I like the look of the pickguard on this strat, i think it makes a nice combination with the body. would'nt mind putting one on a jazz. has anyone seen one anywhere?, i emailed the guy but no answer. don't even know what you would call it.

Is it not a slightly darkened translucent guard? The grain seems to match the body.

I'd say it's a smoked guard. Not wood.

If you click on the pickguard tab on the right it shows more wooden pick guards. I would think it would be cheaper to make your own and shouldn't be too difficult (says the man who made a 5 minute job last a week). Its given me a great idea though, if you do make your own I'd practice on a cheap piece of wood first.
