I hope this link works as I'm having trouble with uploading at the moment but basically I have a selection of basses available for trade; x1 fretless Streamer 86 (natural), [s]x1 fretted Streamer 87 (natural)[/s],[s] x1 fretted Streamer 91 (see-thru red high gloss)[/s] and a [s]Fender P bass (for sale on the forum already) with added J pup[/s].

I'm after a downsized and LIGHT weight Precision or Jazz 'style' bass; Sadowsky or similar. I'm obviously not looking to trade all 4 for a bass :) but cash either way can be worked out if one floats your boat.

I can email pics easier than upload them at the minute but I will try and sort that out asap; full details on each bass (pup manufacture etc.) to follow.

Think I bought a bass from you some years ago - a nice sister fretted streamer to the ones shown. Played the fretless in the picture and at the time you had a Fortress with that massive weighted bridge as well as a Thumb. You like your Warwicks!

Anyway good seller - highly recommended.

All of the basses that you mention have resided with me at some time in the past and I certainly remembering owning that combination of basses that you mention about 8-10 years ago... or maybe longer! :) Did you have an Ampeg combo at the time? In fact whilst moving house recently I found a pic of the bass that you may have bought, do you still have it; IIRC it had a bit of flame to it for an early Streamer.

Sorry perhaps you're right - time flies

> Did you have an Ampeg combo at the time?

Actually a Randall combo

Yes I do and it gets an annual airing at a local music school show I do. It gets admiring glances and the odd "how much do you want for it?"

Not the 'actual' bass that I had in my mind but certainly one of mine and I do remember... not that many people using Randall combos.

Always nice to know where some of my old basses are. I've always thought those 87-89 'transition' basses that have the Wenge/Maple as opposed to Maple/Wenge necks with the 2 piece bridge as opposed to the 1 piece are some of the best basses Warwick built. There was always a subtle changing of the contouring over the years and if they'd retained the very earliest uber-slim bodies/necks with that neck/bridge set up then that would be my ultimate 'Custom' Warwick bass!

So who else wants to be another satisfied Warwick owner? :)

Just a quick digression, and not meaning to hijack the thread, but have you thought about getting a Warmoth Dinky P or Dinky J body (or even their chambered J, although that's not downsized) in a light wood like swamp ash, to team up with whatever neck and hardware you fancy? Could be a relatively cheap and effective way to get that elusive lightweight issue sorted...

Not a bad idea at all and something that I've considered and discussed with Howie; only trouble being you've no guarantee what the actual weight will be. Also by the time I factor in buying the other parts it might start to get pricey and have a very limited resale value if it doesn't suit my needs... at least a factory Sado or similar will be worth what I paid for it if I decided to sell it on.

I do like your train of thought though Owain. :)

I'm just thinking of the local second-hand market for a Dinky P (i.e. me  ).

But yeah, it can get a little pricey. I've just priced up a Dinky P body in swamp ash including a 3TS finish, and it's $475, and a Warmoth neck (with satin nitro finish) would be another $315, so you're already over £500 without shipping, VAT or duty... or hardware!

Still, cheaper than a Sadowsky...

Might not use it tonight, as its more of a fretless gig, then again might be a good contrast?
That looks gorgeous!

so is it for sale/trade or are you just teasing us? lol :)

There will be PM's in the morning! The fretted cherry Streamer is a bit of a "holy grail" bass, but I've been through 3 Wicks and sold them all on in the past 5 years so I'd given up on them. My Favourite was a 2000 Stage I with EMG's so I'm guessing it would be a good move. I've got some thinking to do.....
Just got a different bass from John, in great condition and he made it easy for me to do the deal too. You can buy with confidence from this man, sound as a pound.

Have a bump on me
