steve-soar
I would guess that the knob nearest the neck was for the pickup nearest the neck, the one next to that was for the back pickup and the one next to that was for the tone control. What's the problem? Steve.
steve-soar
Get a screwdriver and gently tap each pickup while turning the controls, just to be sure.

Doddy
I've got one of the older style Tanglewood Rebel's (pre 4k), and it's a typical Volume,Volume,Tone layout. The knob nearest the neck is for the front P-style pickup, the middle knob is for the J-style bridge pickup, and the last one is an overall tone control.
