plyguy Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) Hi, Has anyone got a K&K Bassmax pickup & preamp for sale for a reasonable price? Don't mind if it's just the pickup as I'm sure I can find a preamp separately. I'm in the UK and can pay by paypal or cheque. Am also interested in Fishman Platinum Pro Bass Preamp if anyone is selling? Edited July 4, 2010 by plyguy Quote
TPJ Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 There's this on ebay as an alternative if you can't find a Bass Max. I reckon the final price might be around £90-110-ish though, but you might get lucky. Quote
plyguy Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Thanks for tip-off there, i'll keep an eye on that one although i'm not sure if it's the ideal pickup for me, mainly due to the fact that my bass is mid-quality ply and I sometimes will need some fairly high volume.... From: http://www.gollihurmusic.com/product/1428-...OLIN_VIOLA.html "The pickup seems to perform best on carved basses and quality laminated instruments with a nicely responsive top. As with all transducers, the bass and its characteristics dictate the results. Note that if your volume needs are high, The Realist may not be the best choice... as it seems to feed back more readily than some other pickups. I would suggest the K&K Bass Max as an alternative choice for players with higher volume needs". Quote
steviedee Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 I've got a couple of bassmax pickups I can highly recommend them. I used it for a while with the k&k preamp and clicky sounded great. My preamp is somewhere in Inverness where I left it, I'm waiting for it to return so I can use it on me new bass! Quote
