stingrayfan
Just finished some new demos for my cover band using my G&L L2000 Tribute. The overall compression's taken a little bit of the edge off the sound but I think it still sounds great. "Chelsea Dagger" is with a pick, the other two tunes are fingerstyle. The bass in question is this one:

Machines
Love the bass tone, the guitar sounds like it's coming through a 10w practise amp though, way too fuzzy for me .

You tell them to back it off but will they listen?
SJA
nice tone- I've been listening to the Comsat Angels and I think Kevin Bacon (not the guy in Footloose...) used an L2000 on most of the tracks eg. "Island heart"- he's using one in the video for "Independence day".
stingrayfan
Thanks for all the nice comments. We did them all in a day, so they're not perfect but good enough for us. We did bass and drums live (with a couple of minor punch-in repairs), then overdubbed guitar, vocals, b vox and some handclaps/tambourine. I got the engineer to add extra compression on the mix to make it sound richer but it's pretty much what we sound like live.

I've got a couple of six strings and they're fantastic. One's a Les Paul type and the finish is amazing. Sounds great too - nice and warm. Hardly a brand bias I suppose, just think they are tacky and have bad memories of buying my first guitar. I appreciate their basses are of a different quality. I'm more of a Fender/Gibson man when it comes to guitars.
