phsycoandy
A well played and well loved MIJ Luxor full size jazz bass, with great tone and some quirkyness to boot. If you can't afford £2k for a early 70's Fender then this has for me all the tone and volume to boot and has served me well. This is no oil painting it's a well played bass, for good reason, with numerous bumps and grazes. All original as far as I know and dates to early to mid 70's. Quirky lipstick pups! Vol, Vol, Tone, yet two knobs are marked tone! Nice straight high gloss neck, tuners are tight and work well, truss is fine. Bound and blocked maple neck. Missing the thumb rest. No crackles on the pots, all electrics work fine, with a great even volume across the strings with some nice honk. £145 .. Shipping is £10. you will not be dissapointed this plays like a beastie! Bassassin
Very unusual - not a brand you see in the UK too often. Really like the grain on the body of this. For the morbidly curious, Luxor was a Euro (probably German) importer brand. There was a US Luxor brand in the 1920s but these aren't related. Like most 70s JapCrap J copies this would have had ashtrays originally - it's probably the same bass as this Cimar: http://www.ibanez.co.jp/anniversary/14/7.jpg The one on the left, that is.
