TomKent Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) Recently I was introduced to some amazing Gospal artists, Marvin Sapp being one of them. These are fantastic musicians, fantastic singers and there's some brilliant production going on too! TomKent Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Wow. I was so tired I couldn't construct a sentence to save my life last night. Edit time! Quote
Golchen Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I love that Gospel type stuff, it's my favourite type of music to play along to. Fav artist: Israel Houghton. also like Ron Kenoly (Abe laboriel plays bass for him). Quote
4 Strings Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Israel uses fabulous musicians, the bass players are awesome, as are their basses - 6 strings being usual. Seen him live once, the whole thing was such fun, like a breath of fresh air. Its not a playing type that comes naturally to me, I can copy but not create easily in that field. To be honest, I can only listen for a limited time too, but its wonderful stuff. Good message too. Quote

velvetkevorkian Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Sounds like lift music to me. I think this is one of those genres that you probably have to see in person to 'get'. As ever though, YMMV. Quote

xgsjx Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 I prefer things like Selah, Hillsong United & Chris Tomlin. Misty Edwards has some stonking bassists playing for her. Quote
RhysP Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Cringingly awful happy clappy bollocks IMO - I don't care how good the bass players are. It makes me want to move to Norway & burn down a church. Quote
