Haven't had time to really have look at this site. but the Herbie Flowers bit caught my eye. The white Stripes do have a bass player and its Herbie!

"It’s even Herbie’s bass playing at the beginning of The White Stripes ‘Seven nation Army’."

hmm. are they sure about that?- last year I recorded a demo at Toerag studios where the White stripes did the Elephant album (inc. seven nation army) and the engineer there said there was no bass used- Jack White put his guitar through an octave pedal for basslines.

they have a couple of old Burns basses strung with flats in the attic area.

Herbie said it was him...!

can't argue with the man...
He said it was from a library music thing he did years and years ago..

that's really weird, because Toerag studio is completely analogue, all except for the CD burners.
unless Jack White brought in a sampler, and then getting Meg White to play in time with it would be impossible.....

I reckon Herbie probably did play a bassline just like it long ago, and Jack White copied it/ripped it off.

I'd love to hear the original, if anything just to reinforce my view of how unoriginal the White Stripes are.
