How disgusting, however now I have an idea as to what 3 jazz coils would sound like for my next project bass.

There was a 2-pup version as well, equally hideous. I have only ever seen on of these in Klaus Blasquiz' book one the Fender Bass and I just dragged it out for a look-see. My God, there are some horrific basses near the end of that book that - thankfully - didn't make production! Check it out, as it's a good reference book.
