bubinga5
i would without a doubt go for an MIJ 62 RI jazz...then with the rest of the cash put some sexy pickups in it...thats one bass ass bass....the 75 RI has got too much gloss everywhere IMO.. or if u want an active..Valenti, bacchus or Atelier Z Edited September 12, 2010 by bubinga5
Musicman20
Just realised Id already put this topic up then made another! Still good to read it again.
waynepunkdude
Slightly OT but I saw a Jazz in a shop the other day marked up as a 62RI MIJ but it had 3 knobs and no tug bar, is that right? It also didn't have block inlays.
Bassnut62
I love the vintage Fender tones too; but I tried a Sandberg JM4 15 months ago and it blew me away - it was better than any Fender I've ever played. Awesome quality. You can tell they've got Fender DNA in their somewhere and they can do traditional sweet & round Fender tones in single coil passive mode; but they are definitely modern basses. That's actually why I ended up buying it. It wasn't as predictable as the USA Std Jazz I had been considering. It offers so much more than the obvious. Nice bass and worth the cost too IMO
TheRockinRoadie
I like my Marcus Miller 4-string, great Jazz for the price, plus you get the 2-band preamp. I'm alsoquite fond of my friends Lakland Jazz, i think its a Darryl Jones sigi?
mreriksen
I can highly recommend the dingwall super J. Here is a pic of the bass just to demonstrate that it looks good too!
Chris2112
At this price point, I'd be looking for a used Victor Bailey model. Or a Fender Zone bass - not technically a jazz but sonically able to sound like one!
cocco
I'd think shuker or 62RI with a grand. Or CIJ then upgrades. My upgraded CIJ is the dogs.
