Lord Sausage
I've got £400 to spare. (rare as rockin horse sh*t). I,ve decided to purchase a fretless if possible as i don't have one and haven't played on one for about 12 yrs. does anyone know of a half decent or better fretless bass that i can buy brand new for around £350 to £400? thanks a lot
bythesea
Does it have to be brand new? I bought a second hand (unmarked) CIJ fretless Jazz for round that figure. Wonderful bass.

Alternatively you might just snag a standard Warwick Corvette for £400, not too shabby if you prefer something away from the Fender track. Viajero
Be open about second-hand. I was looking for a fretless on that budget, and was hunting around for a while. Best bet, I figured, was an Ibanez Gary Willis on a big discount. In the end, though, I picked up an old Status 6er on this very forum. Certainly not what I went looking for, but never looked back. If I keep it I'll get it sanded and epoxied.

EvilSmile
The marks don't look too serious to me and i can't think of a reason why it would affect the tone.
