basshead56 Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 some tasty looking copies there. The Aerodyne Jazz copies look great. Set necks too. Wonder how they sound. Quote
OutToPlayJazz Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) I think it's Paul H has a white slab edged one - A bit like an Aerodyne. Sounds nice, too. Here's the thread about the bass... Rich Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 The black Aerodynalike is very nice. Me likey. Not too sure about the Rickenrays though. Quote
Bassassin Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 I do like the look of the Rickrays, particularly the white/black binding one. If they did a red/black one I'd have trouble saying no. Jon. Quote
dannybuoy Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Right these Rickenrays are only £249 now and I'm very tempted. I wonder if putting coil tap switches on would help give it a more Ric-like tone? Quote
Pete Academy Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 How are they getting away with these copies? Just curious. They look fab. Quote
Doddy Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I really like the look of the Aerodyne style ones. Quote
Cygnus x-1 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I follow this thread and threads like it about Retrovibes with interest, one thing i've noticed, lot's of potential buyers thinking and looking, asking a few questions, very few pulling the trigger! It's almost as if, it just must be too good to be true, and often in life it usually is? ....me, i'm curious and a little bit cautious, maybe someone can shed more light on these fine looking basses?...Nick. That said, as soon as my backup rig is sold, I`m gonna have to buy one of those rickenfakers. My Jam fixation is simply ordering me to, as can`t afford a real life Rickenbacker! Will put up a review once played for a while. Quote
SignsOfDelirium_bassist Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Hmm...now this has got me thinking...I was planning on buying one of the squier VMJags, but I could buy one of the RV4 an stick hipshot hardware on it, so at least the bridge would look right maybe a wizard bucker in the bridge...Oh the choices...must concentrate on selling my 5string first >.< Quote
