Been looking around for a good 70's style reissue P-bass in white & have narrowed it down to the following:

PB70-78US
Crafted in Japan
Alder
Maple w/rosewood board
Vintage US pickups
Spiral vintage bridge
Olympic White
Approx £430 inc all taxes etc from Ishibashi

or

Highway One Precision (upgrade) 70's logo etc
US made
Alder
Maple w/rosewood board
Vintage US pickups
'Greasebucket' tone circuit (rolls off highs without adding bass)
Badass II bridge
Last one of limited run of 100 in Transparent White
Approx £625 in all taxes etc from US dealer

Any thoughts on which would be better, is better value, will hold/gain value etc.....?

Thanks!

tis a toughie that one dude, my MIJ P is great in terms of playability and the build quality is up there if not better than some MIA's i've tried, but i like the look of the new highway1's. I would say probably that the Highway1 will hold its value more due to being a limited editon model.
Most definitely the CIJ, the colour and fretboard alone would seal it for me! you could always add a Badass II afterwards and still have saved money!
+1. I have the CIJ 70s reissue and did just that. As well as the Badass, I've fitted some EMGs (although the stock pickups are good too) and it still came in at less than the Highway. The Highway is a good bass, but the CIJ is just lots of bass for the money.

In terms of build quality, the CIJ is just as good as my MIA Jazz.
