Except then there's the "professionally applied" Fender decal. Not that I'd be bidding anyhow, but I find relabelled basses really off-putting. Quote
neilb Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Agree re decals. To me its totally pointless and in the end is grief if you want to sell your bass. For a start, whats on the headstock means sod all to most your audience. Those in the audience that would recognise the Fender name would also recognise the fact its NOT a Fender instrument, its a Squier, so whole process is pointless. People that do this are just wanting to kid themselves they have a brand which they dont. What other household item/possession would you do this too? As I say, when it comes to selling, you have a dilemma. Most buyers dont want an altered bass, do they?? Quote
Annoying Twit Posted July 18, 2010 Author Posted July 18, 2010 Sold for £237, + p&p. Clearly someone wanted it. Quote
Annoying Twit Posted July 18, 2010 Author Posted July 18, 2010
You very rarely get a bargain on eBay anymore.
Among "golden era" Japanese made instruments, there have been some very good deals recently. But VMJ Squiers seem to keep their value very well. I can buy a new one for £227 or thereabouts in a local shop, and they frequently go for £180 or so on ebay. Quote
