BoomPing
Shuker bass in progress Didn't want to say anything until I got the first pictures: Specs will be as follows: 4 string fretless J bass classic 34" scale 24 fret maple / wenge laminated neck two way truss rod carbon fibre reinforcement composite board, lined white side dots Ebony head veneer 'Lizzy' inlay on top of head veneer out of simulated MOP satin finish mahogany body flame maple drop top white binding polyester basecoat blue sunburst wet look gloss topcoat individual bridge units black hardware EMG J set Vol / balance / tone The inlay is going to be in memory of my auntie who left me some money and I wanted to put some of it towards something I would enjoy rather than stick it in savings. The impatient waiting has begun. Ieuan

eude
Awesome looking spec dude. Jon does make a lovely Jazz Bass. Brewing up something similar myself at the moment... Looking forward to seeing this one develop, reckon the ebony head veneer is gonna be sweet! Cheers, Eude

BoomPing
Looking forward to seeing this one develop, reckon the ebony head veneer is gonna be sweet! Cheers, Eude
The ebony head veneer was mostly because it's going to be quite an intricate inlay so ebony would allow for cutting a rough shape for the inlay and filling in around the edges after so it looked nice and smart. Jon assured me that it would look perfect after finishing. Ieuan

BoomPing
What EMG Pickups are you going for by the way?
These one's: EMG J SET I don't have a lot of knowledge on pickups so I went with Jon on this. Finbar
I saw a blue flame maple J body with white binding hanging up at Jon's today. I'm assuming it was this ;p It is stunning mate, and the final coat of gloss hasn't even be applied yet. The flame is almost holographic when you tilt it in the light. You won't be disappointed! BoomPing
Couple of pictures I forgot to upload: I'm really happy with the way the inlay has come out and the body is looking fantastic too. Jon's said he'd finish everything off this week. Can't wait to get my hands on it

Dood
LOVE the headstock! I have always preferred headstocks that were glossy if coloured black, but with the text, yours looks really clean, understated and classy!
