funkle
Hello all Been on a Paul Desmond kick lately, which looks set to continue. I have transcribed all 3 choruses of Paul Desmond soloing on 'All The Things You Are'. I haven't provided the PDF file, but the link to the site where it is hosted (Noteflight) is below. You can hear it without having to sign up.... All the best, Pete http://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/e569...6a1479f81145939 Edited August 1, 2010 by funkle
TKenrick
This is a great solo - lots of nice melodic sequences and some interesting phrasing, thanks for posting. Oddly enough I transcribed this last week so it's nice to see someone else's version for comparison!
funkle
It's great, isn't it! He just develops it so well over each successive chorus too. Glad you have another transcription to compare! Some of the rhythms are tricky to get on paper... More to come on Paul Desmond, I hope...

I've been rubbish at regularly updating it but should get some new stuff on there this week. I've attached my version of the solo (in treble clef), which appears to be similar to yours apart from a couple of rhythmic things
funkle
Thanks. You're right, on re-listening, there a few rhythmic things that are triplets which I thought were 1 x 8th + 2 x 16ths. Will sort. Pete
