Played one of these recently. Shortscale and light, due to semi hollow body (no f holes though). Good looking thing too, wine red plus gold hardware, was quite impressed with the build quality. Shop wanted £350.

i owned one of these & a Gibson SG bass (both at the same time) & the Epi' was just as good a bass as the Gibson & was just as well made--but £600 cheaper

If I saw one for that price and there was nothing seriously wrong with it and I liked how it played I'd have bought it - sounds like a bargain to me.

I've owned one for about five or so years now. Very pretty and pretty sounding. They get a good tone with the pressurewound strings I use, but I imagine they would be quite good with flats. With both pickups full volume and the tone turned down they are quite deep and muddy sounding. I actually turn the neck pick up down in volume to get more of a midrange sound. I use it when playing folk music of different kinds.
