Hi all

Here, as described above, is a rare breed of Rickenbacker that in terms of build quality lacks none of the class of its more famous 4000 series. This was bought from Bass Gallery for £750. In stunning midnight blue, it's a great player but the neck is too thin for me.

It has MAHOOSIVE tone and thump - honest, it's got some proper welly. It's great played with a pick, but also responds well to fingers.

This is what I know about it, but sure others may be able to say more:

Maple body and neck, fully bound neck, padouk fingerboard, two single coil soap bar pups with switchable control and vol/tone for each pick up, double truss rod, pick up height adjuster through the back, premium tuners and internal circuit which provides, along with the superb action and brilliantly intonated bridge, ringing ringing sustain.

1984 - Introduced
1992 - Discontinued

The fretboard is a joy to touch, waxed and so smooth (just too narrow for my liking) and the frets are in great condition. There are some obvious dings, but it is an 89 model so has some scars. May trade for 5ers that I fancy, as any sale from this will go towards a 5 string anyway
